Residents of neighboring Persimmon Creek and Persimmon Ridge joined forced to complete a sidewalk bridge that separated the two neighborhoods for 10 years. Lawrence City Councilman David Freeman, a friend of the Corey family, led the charge in soliciting donations, blueprints, permits from the City of Lawrence, and volunteers to construct the bridge over Labor Day weekend.
