2012 Eggstravaganza Pictures!

We had a FANTASTIC time at the 2012 HHOA Eggstravaganza!  If you weren’t there, you really missed out on a good time.  Plenty of neighbors showed up and kids were not required in order for the participants to have a good time, talking and getting to know  their neighbors.

Thanks for all the hard work to  Brittany Hunley, Kathleen Swec, Daniel DeVane, Janet Smith and Jason Bruick. Thank you so much!

2012 Annual Meeting Minutes

Meeting of HHOA Jan 30, 2012.

Jason opened the meeting at 7:07.

Quorum of 20 votes with proxy and attendees.

Board Members attending, Greg Huey, Mike McNeal, Jason Bruick, Bev Flick, Mike Alyea

Jason reviewed the agenda.

Motion to approve the 2011 Minutes was made by Mike Alyea, seconded by Jason, motion passed.

Jason summarized the past year.

Mike McLoughlin asked about landscaping the north end of the front of the neighborhood. The board agreed to look into adding that as a project.

Diane McLoughlin raised concern about rentals in neighborhood. In 2008, a motion passed to prohibit additional renters in the neighborhood, however, the by-laws were never updated by an attorney. The new board will make sure to update the by-laws. The board agreed to have the bylaws updated.

The budget for 2012 was presented by Jason and Bev, Diane McLoughlin, moved to approve the budget, Mike Alyea Seconded, Mike Kominsky had some follow up questions that were answered about the budget confirming the 2012 dues are budgeted for $350. Mike McLoughlin questioned the effectiveness of the neighborhood doing the mulching. The board felt neighborhood mulching should continue as long as it is effective as it saves several hundred dollars a year. Motion passed on the budget.

Trina Einterz talked to the audience about selling homes. She stated the appraisals have been tough this year. Make sure the tax records are accurate as the square footage have been off by up to 400 sq. ft.! Carpet, cleaning, lighting and painting add a significant amount to house sales. People buying the house don’t have money to do updates, but can finance, so do the updates yourself. Appraisers again are very strict. Our location is good and people like the size of the neighborhood. Trina has access to contractors. Windows can be fixed, they don’t have to be replaced. Mike to email Trina for contractor information. Do the upgrades while you can enjoy it.

Greg Huey, brought up that his house is lit up too much by the street lights and the utility lights. Jason recommended reducing the wattage. The board will look into that this year.

Greg Huey, also heard that the cul de sac is not getting snow removal as well as the rest of the neighborhood. Jason said he’d see if we can get John to pay more attention to the cul de sac. Mike Alyea stated that the city does the streets and we should not have the association spending money on it. Trina and Mary said the eyebrows still need to be done. Jason asked for the snow policy be linked on the HHOA website. Mike McNeal to do that.

Greg Huey, asked to get a better understanding of what the plan is for the removal and replacement of the trees. Jason stated we will be putting in 8+ 10 foot trees, some form of Spruce so they are longer living, as the ones we have now are dying out and will have to be removed soon anyway.

Trina suggested that we also allow homeowners along Mollenkopf to be able to purchase trees at the same cost to put in trees on their property.

Mike Kaminski. suggested we get a grant from the town of Fishers to get some matching funds to subdivisions for beautifying the neighborhood. Bev said she would look into getting the grant for the trees in the front this year. It was suggested to tie into Mike McLoughlin’s request for landscaping the northern part of the neighborhood.

Mike Kaminski nominated Trina for board position, Mike McLoughlin seconded. Diane McLoughlin nominated Mike McLoughlin, Mike McNeal seconded. None opposed, motion passed.

Jason and Mike Kaminski volunteered to be on the landscape/architecture committee.

Shockley moved to adjourn, Mike Kaminski seconded, motion passed.

New Board: Bev Flick – Treasurer Mike McNeal – Secretary Mike Alyea – Member At Large Mike McLoughlin – President Trina Einterz – Member At Large
