Is the “Ghost of Father’s Day Past” hanging around in your closet? Here’s a great reason to thin out your overstock of neckties!
GreenTree Assisted Living is trying to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records by beating the current record for a collection of neckties. The world record for collection of neckties is 18,000. There are six local facilities participating in this effort, so each facility’s goal is to collect 3,000 neckties. The nearest GreenTree facility is at Fort Harrison, 8025 Doubleday Drive.
Belzer Middle School also will take part in collecting neckties for GreenTree. So drop off your used, old or new neckties at the Media Center from now until May 16.
GreenTree will be making a Father’s Day display that will be located at 8025 Doubleday Drive in the atrium, and on the stairs of all of their centers. For more information, you can contact Executive Director Marti Gibbons at 546-2846.
