Three Geist-area cancer charities are joining together to host a wine tasting event called “Vines for Life” scheduled for Friday, October 1 at the Indianapolis Yacht Club. Team Luke, Creating Hope, and the Indy SurviveOars Dragon Boat Team will be the beneficiaries of the proceeds. Tickets are $75 each and available through www.VinesforLife.com after July 5.
“We all have our friends and extended supporters, but this gives us an opportunity to network with people who might not be familiar with our cause,” said Todd Andritsch with Team Luke. “It’s a great way to connect the causes and help all local cancer charities.”
National Wine and Spirits together with Elite Beverages will be donating the wine for the evening, giving attendees an opportunity to sample over 60 different wines at a price range of $9-$90 per bottle.
“Our team will be competing that weekend, but several of our supporters and friends will be attending Vines for Life,” added Kathy Harrison with the Indy SurviveOars Dragon Boat Team.
Capacity for the event is limited to 250 people. Organizers expect the inaugural event to sell-out within a few weeks.
“It’s great to see our Southern Indiana Wine Tour grow into a bigger, local event,” said John Gianfagna with Creating Hope. Vines for Life evolved from the annual bus tours organized by atGeist.com that visited southern Indiana wineries.
Local businesses that wish to donate items for a live and silent auction are encouraged to contact Tom Britt at tom@atgeist.com or call (317) 823-5060.
