Veterans Day at Geist Elementary

Geist elemenatry school put on its own special celebration today for Veterans day! Students, staff and family members packed the auditorium to hear the choir sing military songs and students read essays and poems. Singer and speaker Autumn Letendre fought back tears as she shared her very personal and emotional story about losing her marine husband not long after 9/11.
Small flags were handed out for the crowd to wave as she sang her song “Raise the FLag.” All Veterans were asked to stand for the crowd’s applause.
