I received this letter in the mail yesterday, and thought putting it in my column my help this person’s efforts. Thanks for your consideration.
Dear Everyone,
I need your help.
I have an issue with one of the most significant branches of government in the United States – the US Post Office. I am in the process of taking the appropriate action, and at the same time I want to ask for your help. Frankly, I can’t do this without you.
I’m a very sought after person and just about everyone is trying to reach me. Yet, as hard as this may be to fathom, my mail is being sent to almost everyone in the United States … except me.
Important information meant for me is being delivered to mailboxes all over the United States. Millions of people I don’t know are privy to my personal mail, every single day. I’ve been trying to get this resolved with the US Post Office for what seems like forever. Inexplicably, when I get someone on the phone and tell them who I am, I am cut off.
My life has become an open book, and there’s little I’ve been able to do about it. Fortunately, many people see my name and throw the mail away before reading it. To those of you who do that – Thank you. For those of you who read my mail, please consider that you are invading my privacy, and in fact, breaking the law!
Before you casually dismiss my claim as utter nonsense, please review the contents of your mailbox today. I am 100% certain that YOU received and will continue to receive MY mail. And rather than put it back in the mailbox with a “NOT AT THIS ADDRESS” comment, you will more than likely toss it in the trash.
I implore you to help me get a handle on this problem. I know my mail you receive is not important to you, but it is to me. Please mark my mail “NOT AT THIS ADDRESS” and put it back in the mailbox. Perhaps, by receiving millions of pieces of mail back the US Post Office will be forced to get my address correct.
Yours always,
Current Resident
