Head coach of the Indianapolis Colts and adoptive parent will provide keynote address during awards dinner following inaugural golf outing at Hawthorns Golf & Country Club-tickets available to the public.
Adoptions of Indiana announced today that Coach Tony Dungy, head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, will serve as guest of honor and keynote speaker for the inaugural Adoptions of Indiana Classic; a golf tournament and sit down awards dinner.
The inaugural event will be held Thursday, September 4 at the Hawthorns Golf & Country Club in Fishers, Indiana. Golf registration and lunch will begin at 11:30 with a shotgun start at 1:00. Beginning at 6:00, dinner ticket purchasers are invited to join golfers for a silent auction and hors d’oeuvres before gathering for an elegant sit down dinner. Keynote speaker and guest of honor, Coach Tony Dungy, will then join dinner guests and golfers. Coach Dungy is expected to speak about his personal experiences as an adoptive parent as well as give a glimpse into the upcoming Colts season just three days before the season home opener in Lucas Oil Stadium.
The public is encouraged to attend. Foursomes for the event are still available and include access to the practice facility, lunch, 18 holes of golf, a gift bag (with autographed copy of Coach Dungy’s book, “Quiet Strength” and Nike Dri Fit shirt among other items), and dinner. Skills contests will be held throughout the day and prizes given for the winners of those events as well as foursomes placing first thru third. Foursomes may be purchased online at www.adoptionsofindianaclassic.org or by calling 317.968.9601.
For those interested in purchasing tickets to the dinner and talk with Coach Dungy, tickets are $75 and available by calling 317.968.9601 or visiting www.adoptionsofindianaclassic.org. Interested persons are encouraged to act quickly as the 175 dinner tickets are selling quickly.
A silent auction will be hosted prior to and during the dinner portion of the evening. Items for bid include an $1,800 strand of pearls donated by G. Thrapp Jewelers, a limited edition artist’s proof lithograph signed by Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, tickets to a Colts game, a helicopter ride through downtown Indianapolis, among other items.
Dollars raised from this event will help provide counseling and support services to expectant women and birth families; continuing education seminars and support for adoptive families, including our Middle Childhood program; and will help ADIN fund their new Minority Recruitment Program to assist in locating loving families for many children who need homes in both the private and public sector.
This year’s event is sponsored in part by Electronic Payment Providers (EPP), Aronstam Jewelers, AT & T, Kirsh & Kirsh, and Paradigm Printing. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, contact Dan Willis at 317.968.9601.
