The Eastern Miracle Offers Bold New Tastes

E miracle 027 By Amy Von Eiff, Dining Divas -

Attention all sushi lovers: E. Miracle restaurant in Fishers can be officially called our favorite sushi spot on the Northeast side. Whether you opt for traditional Japanese food, authentic Korean cuisine, sushi, sashimi, or something even more adventurous, E. Miracle will exceed your expectations. The food here is beautifully presented and market fresh.

Korean cuisine hasn’t yet gained a high level of popularity in Indiana.  Kimchi, bulgogi and bibimbob don’t quite roll off the tongue the way sushi, teriyaki and sashimi do. E Miracle has made an effort to appeal to mainstream diners by infusing the two cuisines into one restaurant. Formally Dami restaurant of Fishers, E. Miracle opened a year ago and has established regulars who attain their weekly fix.

As the Dining Divas walked into the restaurant, we were greeted right away by the owner’s son, Sean, who was also our waiter for the night.  We took a tour of the large restaurant, which is divided among four separate decorated sections: a traditional sushi bar, large general dining area, dining room where you cook your own Korean BBQ, as well as a private meeting room for receptions and birthdays.

E miracle 033 Sean goes over our menu in great detail and describes the tastes we are going to experience. The menu is extensive with numerous detailed pictures that offer all sorts of opportunities to explore new things. We start off with warm sake, which is a Japanese alcoholic beverage made from rice. Our appetizers include edamame, (which is great entertainment for kids who will eagerly try to get the soybeans loose from the  pods),  Korean egg rolls made with beef and served with a delicious sweet homemade egg roll sauce, and yakki mandu (Korean homemade dumplings with beef, pork, green onion and cabbage).  The appetizers were a wonderful way to start our meal—cooked to perfection and served with homemade sauces that we could not stop raving about.

The Divas were able to watch and learn how the Sushi chef puts together his sushi rolls, which he calls “a piece of art.”  Although E. Miracle has only been open for a year, the owners and chefs have a combined 32 years of experience. They are proud to make all of their delicious menu items from scratch, without MSG or other additives.

As we continued with our meal we were served a beautiful Small Sushi Boat — typically chef’s choice — offering sashimi, nigiri and a sushi roll. Our boat contained a ban ban roll, which features spicy tuna and avocado coated with a fried soft shell crab tempura to give the roll a nice crunch. This roll was truly a favorite for the Divas. The fish is mild, fresh, and melts in your mouth with exploding flavors of sweet and spicy.

E miracle 002 Sean then brought a series of small vegetable sides, like radishes, seasoned bean sprouts and turnip.  Kimchi, a traditional Korean side made of a spicy pickled Napa cabbage is a one-of-kind dish. Sean explains that these Korean sides change daily to offer a constant variety of new flavors. While eating all these vegetables, you can not help but think how wonderful and healthy these dishes are, which is always a plus.

Our entrees arrived, and the Divas sampled Bulgogi, a Korean BBQ made with thin marinated slices of beef served over lettuce and green onion salad as well as a marinated grilled chicken breast with a Karashiyaki sauce, a Korean take on honey mustard sauce which is a signature dish of the restaurant. Both dishes are served with steamed rice and were extremely tender and offered unique flavors that kept the Divas wanting more.

E Miracle has an extensive drink menu, offering a wide variety of imported and domestic beers and Korean, Japanese and American wines. We sampled a Korean rice wine with ginseng called Bek Se Ju that was reminiscent to a Riesling, very crisp and refreshing — and who doesn’t want to find a nice alcoholic beverage also containing ginseng!

E miracle 013 This is truly Dining Divas miracle to new and exotic food for Fishers, beginning with the innovative menu down to the well-prepared homemade sauces. We strongly agreed that E. Miracle was a delicious perfection of sushi, featuring wonderful service and great homemade Korean food. The Divas left E. Miracle talking about the next visit.
