The Tim Motsinger for Sheriff campaign led him to Geist this past August for a fundraiser at the home of long time buddy Tim Durham.
Durham and Motsinger grew up together in Seymour, Indiana and have remained friends over the years. Durham wanted to celebrate Motsinger’s campaign, and to celebrate his friend’s 49th birthday.
A crowd of about 70 invited guests gathered at Durham’s home, touring his garages to view his car collection while dining on some tasty treats.
Motsinger spent the evening chatting with friends and talking about politics, of course. “Fundraising events are important because it provides a candidate with the ability to get their message out,” says Motsinger. “To have such a great response for this event, given the current economic standing, is really a testament to the excitement and enthusiasm that surrounds my campaign,” he adds.
Republican Tim Motsinger –a decorated veteran of the Marion County Sheriff’s department and later IMPD, will run against 21-year IMPD Veteran Democrat, Sgt. Mark Brown, on May 4, 2010. The election will decide who replaces the current Marion County Sheriff, Frank Anderson.
