For the sixth year, McKenzie Career Center will host the Indiana Robotics Invitational at Lawrence North High School. The IRI will be held July 18 and 19 at the Lawrence North Gym.
Seventy-two high school teams from across the country will be participating. The event is open to the public with free admission. The robots will be playing Maximum Overdrive as developed by FIRST Robotics.
The event schedule and a list of participating teams are listed on www.indianaroboticsinvitational.org. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics is a world wide organization with 1300+ high school teams.
The McKenzie Team (Team 1024, Kil-a-Bytes) had an amazing season this year, winning three regionals and placing fourth at the world championship in Atlanta in April.
