As an avid reader of @geist, I am unsure how to react to this article...is this an attempt at humor, or some sick individual who has decided to take it upon himself to admonish all individuals that are overweight? Normally articles presented in this publication are of good taste, pertinent information, and within the boundries of "good stewardship"...this one crosses the line.

Judging from the included "charactature", Ron Tuthill is probably an average size individual. Mr. Tuthill should consider himself furtunate not to have a weight issue...that is, unless he is one of the "doctors" he describes who seem to be content "treating" this epedemic, rather than getting in front of the problem to help provide guidelines on how to avoid this disease.

Maybe next month he can put together a piece on a diet and exercise program, or publish a success story of an obese person who overcame the isses they faced to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

Mr. Tuthill, please let the readers of @geist know if you are planning on running in the 5K or Half Marathon so that we can be sure to come out and cheer you on...

Maybe the editors of this publication should screen their writer's submissions prior to posting them. This is a black eye for a publication that is normally a great and informational publication.
