There’s a new exercise studio coming to the Fisher/Geist area this fall.
The Carmel-based Reforming Indy Pilates is opening its doors in the Fall Creek Harbour shops at Brooks School Road and Fall Creek November 4. They will offer Group Reformer and Mat Pilates classes, TRX suspension training, body burn and the increasingly popular ballet barre fusion classes. The state of the art, 2,500-square-foot facility takes over the space once occupied by Yaprak Design Studio & Boutique and Geist Market.
“We are excited about opening the Geist/Fishers studio,” says Michael Abbott who owns the studio with his wife, Kristen.
The Abbotts say they are not concerned about the number of businesses that have come and gone in the area. “We know what we have to offer is good,” says Michael. “Plus we want to be more than just an exercise studio; we want to be part of the community.”
The public is invited to check out class demos during the grand opening as well as enjoy some nutritious drinks from their staff “juicing guru.”
The Carmel studio with its team of devoted instructors has had a loyal following since they opened in 2007. “We truly believe Pilates makes everything in life easier,” says instructor Ashley Gettinger. “It’s not just an exercise, it is a lifestyle.”
The Carmel location also offers massages, yoga and lululemon athletic clothing.
Pilates is a physical fitness system developed by a man named Joseph Pilates who is known for the claim, “In 10 Pilates sessions, you’ll feel the difference. In 20 sessions, you’ll see the difference, and in 30 sessions, you’ll have a different body.”
