Meet Bev Gard and Steve Dillinger on March 21st

Mark your calendars for a “Meet and Greet” event for two important candidates to this area.  On Friday, March 21st, the Indianapolis Yacht Club will open its doors to Geist residents to host a reception for State Senator Beverly Gard and Hamilton County Commissioner Steve Dillinger.  The event is scheduled to take place from 7-10 p.m.  There will be light appetizers and a cash bar.

Senator Gard has been in the State Senate for 20 years, and hasn’t faced a primary opponent in the 20 years she’s served as state senator for the 28th District- until now. Fall Creek Township trustee, Terry Michael, is running against her.  Senator Gard authored SB 114 to stop forced annexation in Indiana.  Senator Gard was willing to take a stand on this very hot issue.  She knew that authoring this bill would draw criticism from the other side, but she believed working to stop forced annexation was the right thing to do.  It’s refreshing to see a legislator vote their conscience!  She’s also incredibly responsive and giving of her time to her constituents.

County Commissioner Steve Dillinger has also been very helpful to the residents in this area.  When the Cambridge HOA board has a question or needs help regarding County services, Steve is who we call. He is definitely the kind of person who helps make things happen!  Since we are not incorporated in this area, (we have no mayor, no Council President, etc), the Hamilton County Commissioners are our local representation.  Steve does a great job at responding to the concerns of the residents in Hamilton County.  County Commissioner Dillinger is also facing an opponent in the primary election this year, Noblesville businessman David Whiteman.

The purpose of this get together is to get a chance to talk to these candidates and energize the voters in this area to vote in the primary elections in May.  If you would like to donate to their campaigns, there will be an opportunity to do so that evening.  Please take this opportunity to socialize with neighbors and meet the candidates!  Remember, please VOTE on May 6th in the primary elections this year!
