LT Schools Superintendent Copper to Retire

Letter to Stakeholders from Susan Fuldauer, President, MSDLT Board of Education

Dear Lawrence Township Stakeholders,

Dr. Michael Copper, Superintendent of Lawrence Township Schools, has submitted his letter of retirement to the Board of Education, effective June 30, 2009. The Board will formally take action on this during the December 15,2008 Board of Education meeting.

Dr. Copper has served our school district as Superintendent for the past seven years. He retires from our school having been an educator for over forty years. This was a personal decision for Dr. Copper and his family. We appreciate the leadership and direction that he has given to our school district and we wish him all the best as he moves into retirement in a few months.

In January, the Board will come together to begin a search for a new superintendent. We appreciate that Dr. Copper has given us adequate time to find an acceptable replacement and that we will have a smooth transition to new leadership. Our administrative team will continue initiatives currently in place and will work to move forward with initiatives under discussion for the future, always being aligned with the mission of our district.

Again, I hope you will join with the Board in expressing our gratitude to Dr. Copper for a lifetime of service to public education.

Sincerely,

Susan Fuldauer
President, MSDLT Board of Education
