Local DeVeau’s Gymnast Elizabeth McNabb Accepts Offer from Illinois

Hard work pays off..... DeVeau's School of Gymnastics' junior standout, Elizabeth McNabb, has accepted a full-ride gymnastics scholarship offer to the University of Illinois.  Impressed with the combination of scholastic excellence and the opportunity to compete for one of the hottest gymnastics programs in the country, Liz is thrilled to call herself an Illini.  Liz also felt a strong connection to her future teammates and a special affinity for Head Coach Bob and assistant coaches Kim and Amy.  Mom and Dad are excited that Liz will be within driving distance and look forward to continuing their enthusiastic support of her gymnastics career in the Big Ten Conference.

Liz has been a consistent leader in the gym and has had a distinguished career which includes:  2009 J.O. Level 10 Nationals - Silver Medalist on Bars - 13th AA/Indiana State Bars and Floor Champion, 2005 U.S. VISA Championships/U.S. Classics/J.O. Level 10 Nationals/Region 5 AA Champion/Indiana State Champion/Region 5 All-Star Team/  1st AA International Cup of Artistic Gymnastics in El Salvador.  She is coached by Tom Strange, Amy Scales, and Don Gibson and formerly coached by Peter Zhao.  Elizabeth attends Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Indiana where she is a member of the National Honor Society and the Math League.  Liz is also very involved in a variety of community service activities.  Liz is the daughter of Fortville residents, Brad and Julie McNabb.
