Lawrence Chamber Update

Sandi Ballard, Lawrence Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.

Last month we held an overwhelming number of events, including one seminar called “Whale Hunting 101”. The subject being “how to land bigger deals with bigger customers”. We had a great turnout, so much so, that James, the manager at Northwood University, and I had to break a sweat rearranging the room to fit everyone in! (thank you James!) But that’s the type of response we hoped for, and honestly, it’s part of our goal this year with our educational boost. We want to host seminars for our Members and “hopeful” Members to learn and grow. Additionally, we enjoy working with Hazel Walker, Exec. Director of Central Indiana Region of Business Network International (BNI) and The Whale Hunters, Certified Partner, as she not only teaches you a great deal, she empowers you to want more. We are also hoping to help the City of Lawrence “educate” the business owners/managers on permits. From what I understand, there is an overwhelming number of fines being handed out for improper or lack of permits. Kyle Gotschammer, Building Inspector for the City of Lawrence, contacted us and wants us to help spread the word, so he can educate people vs fining them. SO! Those of you within the Lawrence City limits who are looking to build, renovate or expand…let us know and we’ll put together an hour-long informational seminar to help save you time, money and get it right the first time! We look forward to our continued service to our Community, please let us know how we can help!
