Join Zoe’s Bone Marrow Buddies to Benefit Riley Hospital

zoesbonemarrow_logo The 2nd annual Zoe’s Bone Marrow Buddies Bowling Fundraiser will be at Woodland Bowl in Indianapolis on March 7th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. For more information on this great cause or to RSVP, go on www.zoebmb.org .

Money raised will promote research, education and financial support specifically for the Stem Cell Unit at Riley Children’s Hospital.

The Stem Cell Unit is very small and many times over looked for funding.

However when a child goes for a Bone Marrow/Stem Cell transplant it is

Their last chance at life.

How Can a Transplant Help?

* Childhood Cancers * Immune Disorders

* Metabolic Disorders * Blood Disorders

* Cutting Edge Diseases and Disorders still in the research phase

Why is This So Important to Zoë’s Bone Marrow Buddies?

All Stem Cell Transplants require children and their caregivers to spend an extended amount of time in the hospital. The accommodations of the Stem Cell unit are less than comfortable and inhibits the families from experiencing the hospital’s goal of family centered care.

The entire unit has no bathrooms or showers. This forces the caregivers to leave at a very critical time, when their sick child needs them the most.

Transplant children are not allowed to leave their rooms for fear of being exposed to infection; they have to resort to sponge baths and use portable toilets.
