Hamilton Southeastern High School Drama Club will present John Patrick’s comedy The Curious Savage on March 5, 6, and 7 at 7 p.m. in the Little Theatre. The production will involve a cast of 11 and crew of over 40 students.
The story line has the main character Mrs. Savage being left several million dollars by her husband, and the plot is all about her efforts to use it well in spite of her grown stepchildren trying to get it for themselves. That includes committing her to a “sanatorium” where she meets various social misfits whom she decides need her help. Mrs. Savage does maintain control of the money and uses it to fulfill some of the hopeless dreams of residents of the sanatorium. The virtues of kindness and affection win out over greed and dishonesty in the play. Directors for the production are Mary Armstrong, Jen Otterman and Haley Frischkorn with assistant director Ethan Mathias.
Tickets will be available at the door for $5. They may also be reserved by phone for $6 by calling 594-4190, ext. 12606.
