Free Sailboat Rides, lunch, live music, balloons and face painting!
Please join us for the Heart of Sailing Foundation’s second annual Sail-a-thon. Sail-a-thon is an annual event celebrated to benefit our Daysail program, which offers therapeutic sailing adventures to special needs children and their families.
This year’s Sail-a-thon features free sailboat rides to the special needs community and to the general public. The rides are scheduled to leave every 30 minutes from Geist Marina on Saturday, September 20th from 11am – 3pm. Enjoy lunch, compliments of Chick-fil-A, Kroger and Pepsi. Live Caribbean music will be performed by Kenny Kipp and Giggles the clown will be on hand to entertain the kids with her famous balloon sculptures and face painting. Sponsors for the Geist Marina event include the D.A.D.S. group and the Carmel law firm of Jocham Harden Dimick Jackson, PC
Heart of Sailing’s local program operate Daysails on Geist Reservoir from spring to early fall. The sailing experience empowers children with developmental disabilities and offers them a unique opportunity to learn social and life skills while having fun. Daysails are made possible by the generosity of volunteers, donors and sponsors. A donation made at this year’s Sail-a-thon will enable Heart of Sailing to sustain its’ mission of building a more inclusive world for special needs children and their families and will help us to continue offering the program at no cost to our participants.
