GUO to File Remonstrance Petitions

Unincorporated residents have spoken: “We don’t want to be a part of the Town of Fishers.”

Geist United Opposition representatives announced today that they plan to file the remonstrance petitions collected over the last three months in the Hamilton County courts this week. An estimated 160 volunteers collected over 70% of the parcel owners signatures on a petition to stop the forced annexation proposed by Fishers. Not bad considering many of them are owned by government entities, developers that won’t sign a petition, utilities and churches (especially in Area 1 where Cambridge and Fox Hollow still have several platted parcels).

Only 7 people responded that they were in favor of the annexation (less than 1/3 of 1%).
