Genesis Art Instruction Hosts Alex’s Lemonade Stand to Fight Childhood Cancer

Genesis Art Instruction in cooperation with Hamilton Southeastern (HSE) School students will join the fight against childhood cancer by hosting an Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Friday, August 15, 2008 from 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM, 11876 Olio Road in Fishers, Indiana. The students will host the stand in the hopes of raising funds and awareness for childhood cancer, the number one disease killer of children under 15 in the United States. The students decided on ALSF because they were looking for a charitable foundation that would specifically benefit young people.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996 – 2004). At the age of 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of volunteers across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501 (c) 3 charity, has raised more than $20 million towards fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 80 research projects nationally.
