Geist resident, Terry Hutchens, sportswriter for the Indianapolis Star, just published his third book titled, “Never, Ever, Quit.” Hutchens co-wrote this book with Jane Hoeppner, wife of former Indiana University Football Coach, Terry Hoeppner. As many of you may remember, Hoeppner battled brain cancer and passed away on June 19th, 2007.
“It’s a nice uplifting, Christian, inspirational book, written in Jane’s words with my assistance in the writing process,” says Hutchens who was named “Sportswriter of the Year” (both in 2006 and 2008) for the state of Indiana by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
This new book provides Jane’s perspective of the couple’s eighteen month battle with brain cancer, and the journey that God has taken her on since coach Hoeppner’s death. In the last two years, Jane has answered what she believes has been her mission to encourage people with her husband’s “Don’t Quit” message.
Hutchens and Hoeppner will be signing books at Borders (Noblesville) on Friday, Dec. 11th from 7-9 p.m.
Incidentally, Hutchens also wrote a previous book titled, “Hep Remembered: Memories of Terry Hoeppner from Those Who Knew Him Best” which honors the former IU Coach.
Both of these books would make great Christmas gifts for any IU fan! You can get copies at Barnes & Noble, Borders, and Waldenbooks stores in the Indianapolis and eight-county area. They are also available at amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com.
