Geist family pays hefty price to meet ‘Hannah Montana’ … all for a good cause

Thomas family The woman who remained anonymous after bidding $13,000 for Hannah Montana tickets as part of an auction on the Bob and Tom radio show (WFBQ 94.7) last month…breaks her silence and talks to atGeist.com!

The high bidder is fellow Geist neighbor and Cambridge resident Dawn Thomas. Dawn, along with her husband Ryan, their 8 year-old daughter, Genna, and their 6 year-old son, Gavin, enjoyed the experience of a lifetime Sunday, December 9th as they jumped into their limousine around 1:15 p.m. as part of their VIP package and headed downtown to Conseco Fieldhouse. They also received a dinner certificate and the opportunity to meet the teen star!

“I would never pay $13,000 for just tickets, but this was also for a good cause,” explains Dawn, who says that is what attracted her to the auction in the first place. The proceeds from the auction were going to the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, and Dawn and Ryan are both big Colts fans. “We wanted to make a contribution to the cause, and the tickets to a show our kids would never forget was just the bonus!”

They decided to make it a family affair, and all four went to the concert together. Dawn and Ryan just had one question about the afternoon—would they be home in time for the Colts game?

The Thomas family enjoyed the once-in-a-lifetime experience, and they did meet the 15-year-old singing sensation Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) after the show. That show, by the way, is now being called the most in-demand concert in Conseco Fieldhouse’s eight-year history!

Eight-year-old Genna Thomas really enjoyed the day, reportedly telling one friend that evening that she had so much fun, she just didn’t feel like going to school the next day! The Thomas family is also happy about their contribution to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, which they have learned will help buy games and technology for children at the cancer center.

And, yes, they made it back in time to see the Colts win! It was a day of family fun and a great contribution to a good cause.

So, what, what do you think the Thomas family would pay for a day with Peyton Manning?
