Ultimate Outdoors TV with Captain Ed Brochin is the sporting adventure show that could! One outdoor enthusiast’s brainchild, the show began with sport fishing footage captured on Indy’s own Geist Reservoir and the White River. Originally airing on local TV station WHMB-40, Ultimate Outdoors TV made the leap to the Fox Sports Midwest Network in January and, starting Friday, April 3, hits 19 million homes with airings three times weekly on Direct TV’s The Pursuit Channel.
Ultimate Outdoors TV is an action-packed half-hour documentary series following the true adventures of its host, master outdoorsman and licensed captain through the U.S. Coast Guard, Ed Brochin. In addition to footage of sport fishing on local waterways, episodes include traditional bow hunting for large game, classic al falconry, saltwater sport fishing and inland fly fishing.
On the cutting edge, the show’s cinematic approach gives a whole new look and feel to the outdoor genre, capturing wild America from coastal Florida to Lake Michigan to rough-and-tumble ranch country in Texas.
“I got myself a boat and started out doing fishing charters on Geist Reservoir,” said Captain Ed. “When I decided to turn my love of the outdoors into a television show people told me I would never make it.”
Several years and loads of loyal fans later, Ultimate Outdoors TV can now be seen Sunday afternoons on Fox Sports Midwest and Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays on The Pursuit Channel (channel 608) on Direct TV.
A hometown man till the end, when he isn’t working on a new episode of Ultimate Outdoors TV, Captain Ed can still be found running half-day and full-day fishing charters and sunset cruises on Geist Reservoir.

Way to go Ed!!! I told you it would happen. I miss hearing of your exploits when you would stop at the post office.
