Great music can paint a picture. At least that’s the theory of the Symphony in Color contest, a statewide contest sponsored by the Junior Group of the Women’s Committee of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
Students in grades one through six participate in this annual event. This is the 58th year of this very special contest. Indiana students listen to Classical music and then create a piece of visual art based on what they think the music is about.
This year Forest Glen Elementary School is proud to announce we have three of the top 100 winners. The student winners are:
Grade 3 – Jacob Rowland – from: Movement 111, “Intermezzo from “Symphonie espagnole, Op. 21 by Edouard Lalo
Grade 4 – Jack Huggins – “Introduction” and “theme” from Don Quixote, Op. 35
Grade 4 – Tamaki Ito – – “Introduction” and “theme” from Don Quixote, Op. 35
These students’s work will be on display at the Indiana State Museum from April 4- May 10, 2009. Congratulations!
