Forest Glen Running Club Forms

The new FG Running Club, sponsored by FG Music Teacher Mike McBride and assisted by Alicia Stevens (FG 1st Grade), Tania Umpierre (FG 3rd Grade), and several parent volunteers, includes 28 students and several of their parents to run in this year’s Geist 5K on the Geist Reservoir on Saturday, May 17th at 8:00AM. Students, staff, and parents train Mondays and Tuesdays after school at FG and local paths. The event in MSDLT is co-sponsored by the LT Foundation and Community Health Network in care of the Kids Up & Running Program, whose mission remains “to challenge students to experience the benefits of goal-setting, character development, adult mentoring and improved health by providing them with a true life-changing experience.” Training for the spring race began in March.
