Fishers Elementary Celebrates Reading with “Fun” Week

“Reading Is Fun Week” was celebrated at Fishers Elementary March 16-20. The Reading Committee at FES planned a week full of special activities. To begin the festivities, each classroom decorated their doors using a theme and quote from a Dr. Seuss book. Every day a famous book quote was read over the announcements. Students who correctly identified the book were entered in a daily drawing for a book of their choice. On Tuesday, students wore their favorite hats for Hats Off to Reading Day. On Wednesday students and staff dressed in comfy clothes and pajamas for Get Comfy with a Good Book Day. An all-school read-in took place with a guest reader. Thursday was Read a Shirt Day. On Friday, the halls of FES were filled with “celebrities” as students and staff paraded around the school dressed as favorite book characters.
