Fireside Grill Heats Up

Fireside Grill has opened its doors at 11705 Fox Rd., with a new owner who jumped into his exciting venture despite the tough economy.

Jim Henderson recently greeted his first customers at the Fireside Grill in Geist.  Henderson had been looking for the right opportunity to get into the restaurant business for years when an eatery at the corner of Fox and Oaklandon roads became available.

“This is a dream come true,” said Henderson, a Central Indiana businessman who also owns the Move Crew and a PODS franchise.  “We’re aiming to give our customers an experience they want to tell their friends about.  When they dine here, we want them to feel welcome and taken care of, not to mention sated with fabulous food.”

Jeff Kleindorfer is Fireside Grill’s head chef.  A graduate of L’Academie de Cuisine in Maryland, he hails from Southern Indiana, and his menu includes some of the specialties that he has perfected over the years, such as his salmon, pork chop and beef medallion entrees.  Kleindorfer is also working on featured meals that will be new each week, and offered Wednesday through Saturday.

“We’re thrilled that Jeff is leading our team in the kitchen,” said Henderson.  “He’s very talented and has a great feel for what Hoosiers enjoy.

“We have everything from salads and sandwiches, to Jeff’s outstanding entrées and an incredible wine list.  Simply put, we have something for every palate and every budget,” Henderson added.

Entertainment is also on the agenda at the Fireside Grill.  On occasion, Henderson plans to bring in live music and even comedians.  Tonight, March 5, for example, Matt Roush will be performing, and Sunday, March 8, acoustic duo Disagreeable is on tap to play.  Local comedian Dave Dugan will be bringing his laugh-inducing skills to the restaurant in April.

The Fireside Grill is open from 4 to 11 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.  For reservations, which are recommended, but not required, please call 317.823.1000.  The eatery’s website – www.firesidegrill.in – is currently under construction.  Check there soon for the latest buzz.
