FHS Academic Ambush Team Wins Cardinal Quiz Bowl

The Fishers High School ’s Academic Ambush Team won the 22-school Cardinal Quiz Bowl Tournament at Ball State University February 8. The team beat out undefeated South Bend St. Joseph High School with 260-190 in the championship round. In the semi-finals Fishers outscored last year’s national quiz bowl champion Lafayette Harrison High School with a 210-200 score after a quarter final win over Muncie ’s Delta High School , 290-140.

Team members include Alex Smith, Jenni Goller, Rachel Cooke, Zeke Willey, Chris Womble, Zach Willey, Ian Goller, Christina Koenig, Parth Patel and Yuji Xie. Deborah Hejl and John Drozd are team coaches.

The team’s overall record is now 22 wins and 4 losses. The following matches are tentatively scheduled to air on WIPB-TV (Channel 10 on Fishers Comcast) for
