Everyone is invited to the Healthy Hounds at 79th and Fall Creek Road on Saturday, October 25th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm for a dog “Wash-a-Thon” to benefit Greyhound Pets of America, Indy (www.gpaindy.org). For only $12, volunteer washers will give your dirty dog an awesome cleaning!

For information purposes how are the dogs being washed and where is the detergent laden runoff going? It is against local ordinances as well as state and federal Clean Water Act laws to allow soapy dirty water to run into storm drains which then go to rivers, creeks and lakes.
Regarding the comment from the individual unfamiliar with the concept of self-serve dog bathing & grooming facilities:
The wash-a-thon will be held INDOORS at Healthy Hounds’ clean, user-friendly self-serve dog wash. The tubs are plumbed into the sewer system just like any other INDOOR PLUMBING, and extra strainers and hair traps are installed in the tubs to control dog hair going down the drains. The shampoos & conditioners are gentle, natural products that I’d happily use myself.
The dog wash will benefit retired racing greyhounds being helped into retirement by the dedicated volunteers of Greyhound Pets of America, Indianapolis. Two of those retired racing greyhounds are the Founding Hounds of Healthy Hounds.
If you have a dog and haven’t visited Healthy Hounds yet, I encourage you to stop in for a visit and see our dog wash, pet supplies, dog bakery and holistic pet foods.
