And fourth, "we all know" that the coucil/manager form of government used by Fishers is the form chosen by more municipalities of our size in the entire country. Fishers has the lowest per capita payroll of any of the large communities in Hamilton County. Fishers has one of the lowest if not THE lowest tax rate amongst ALL Indiana cities. Fishers is the envy of every broke, over-politicized and unhappy "city" in Indiana. Check out this great little power point explaining why the mayor system just doesn't work.

Second, (and probably due to the first) "we all know" that you couldn't even garner a third of the vote to unseat State Representative Kathy Richardson.

Third, "we all know" that in spite of the fact that you cannot rest until you've had your revenge on the current Fishers Town Council for annexing you, most of the other Geist residents are probably mature enough to finally let it rest. Especially since the annexation won't cause any increase to their taxes now that caps are in place.

Speak for yourself joefromOhio. Oh, wait, you CAN'T because you are not an actual VOTER in Fishers.

But there are a few things "we all know". First, "we all know" that you were one of the Geist Opposition Board members who thought it would be a great idea to squander the groups time AND the money contributed by Geist residents to "fight annexation" on the failed attempt to form your own two towns.

I also was able to help gather signatures. I actually had people come out of the polling site and ASK to sign, as they recgonized the now familiar Kelly Green CITY YES button. As in all aspects of life, there comes a time to grow and move on. For the Town of Fishers, this is the time. CITY YES if the natural and needed next step for Fishers. Hopefully the beneifts that were studied will be presented to the residents of Fishers, in effect allowing each resident to determine what is best for them. I personally saw Joe in action getting signatures, and even with a clipboard in each hand, Joe could not get people to sign fast enough. Only a relatively small percentage of voters indicated they would not sign because they think the present "small town" government is fine. Some folks wanted more information before they decided, and we gave them flyers.

Our plan is to have this on the ballot in the May 2010 primary. Forces opposing change will be out to defeat this. We need volunteers and funds to pay for handouts, mailers, and yard signs. If you want to help, sign up at http://www.CityYesNow.com.

I was one of the volunteers at a polling place and over 50% of the people voting were in favor of signing the petition. I missed a lot of people going to the polls, so my number would have been a lot higher. If I missed you please go to the web site and download the petition and sign in. We all know the Town Council does not listen to the voters in its town, so here is our chance to let our voice be heard. If you live in the Geist area yes you can sign, as the petitions will be submitted after the annexation takes place. If you want to help in the drive to convert the Town to a City please go to the web site and sign in to be a helper. It’s time for the City of Fishers.
