Children’s Bureau Auxiliary Spring Fundraiser May 7 to Raise Money for Local Children

As a 13-year-old child, Elliot hadn’t had many opportunities in life. He had spent time in and out of various shelters and respite care programs.  He did, however, have the chance to participate in a summer camp program offered by the Children’s Bureau.  At camp, he experienced things many of us take for granted – carefree days, positive role models, friends and family being together.

Years later, when you ask Elliot about his camp memories, he will tell of his day at the Indiana Dunes.  He had never seen sandy beaches, water, seagulls and boats.  The beauty, tranquility and peacefulness were something he had never experienced before.

The Children’s Bureau Auxiliary’s annual event raises money so kids like Elliot can have these experiences while they are under the care of Children’s Bureau.  Each year, over 100 children are sent to camp with funds raised at the annual spring fundraiser.

This year, the 2008 Fashion Show & Blooming Boutiques will be Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at The Fountains, 502 East Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN.
More than 40 merchants will be open to the general public from 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., including a collection of some of Indy’s fun, functional and chic items such as jewelry, cosmetics, home décor items, clothing, kids items, hand painted furniture, handbags, stationary and more.  There is no admission charge to the boutique shopping.

A Fashion Show and Luncheon will also take place at the event.  Doors open at 11:30a.m. Advance sale tickets for the fashion show and luncheon are $40 and can be obtained by calling 317-570-0449 or by going online to  http://www.childrensbureau.org.  Tables of 10 are available for $400.
Donations also are accepted.  Fashions will be provided by Coldwater Creek.
