The Indy chiropractor is offering even more valuable health information than is offered on his popular website, www.secondopinion.org. He is providing health “kits” (available January 21st) over the internet ($80-$200+). They’re designed to help educate those who want to know how to improve their particular health issue but can’t be in his office every week.
“It’s like having five experts sit down with you to discuss your health issue without ever leaving the comfort of your own home,” says Dr. Benzinger.
The kits are videos and pamphlets covering topics such as arthritis, diabetes, menopause, loss, stress and depression. The kits cover what supplements you can take with your prescribed medicine, how to change habits and environment and how to improve your diet and exercise plan.
For example, you may already be taking ibuprofen for arthritis pain, but do you know how supplements would interact with ibuprofen and what exercise would be beneficial to you? These are some of the questions answered by the health kits.
When talking with Dr. Benzinger, you quickly learn that diet and nutrition play a huge role in almost every aspect of our health.
“We eat ourselves into poor health and disease,” he says. “It is well documented that a diet based on sugar and refined foods (enriched flour, fries, sodas and chips) is harmful to your health, and, in many cases, that is the ‘all-American diet.’”
Dr. Benzinger has been practicing in the Indy area for more than 20 years. After 13 years in private practice, he opened his current multifaceted health center at 3323 West 96th Street. He has specialized in Orthopedics with a focus on chronic pain and in the relationship between nutrition and disease.
Benzinger says the health kits are a great way to meet the people who know their stuff. “The internet allows us to do that—it allows experts to reach more people,” he says.
This time of year, Dr. Benzinger is often asked the popular New Year question about the best way to lose a few pounds. Here’s Benzinger’s bottom line:
“Men, you have to watch your calories,” he explains. “You need to either burn more than you take in or eat less to lose weight…it is just that simple.
“Women,” he continues, “benefit greatly from the six, small meals a day plan. Keep the meals to about the size of your fist and high in protein, and that will keep your metabolism going all day.”
So, there you have it. A good start to a healthier you…go check out Dr. Benzinger’s website and go to www.atGeist.com for more information and a video clip of Dr. Benzinger talking about his work.
Happy New Year to all and Cheers to good health!
