  • I am not sure why you believe that losing the Geist Clubhouse will negectively effect out property values. How an this be when there are 2400 residents and only 4.5% of them belong to the club house currently. I did not join the facility since I felt it was to expensive since I am not a swimmer and felt I would most likely not use the facility at anytime. I am not agreeable to raise my dues. I would prefer to add street lights to the community rather than anything for this facility.

  • I have been living in Feather Cove 1 since 1996 and did not even know that the Clubhouse existed,we would have joined and paid the annual fees , I think it is good for all to keep it even if fees are raised and included in the GHPOA fees.

  • Losing the clubhouse and pool as a neighborhood amenity will negatively impact all of our property values, including the 95% who don’t use it.

While only 5% currently use it, many others have in the past or will in the future, and the family who purchases your home is likely to want access to a pool.

If you don’t plan to sell your home or ever use the pool, then you may not care what impact it has on the value of your home, but it will affect it negatively nonetheless.

  • I do not live in the neighborhoods directly impacted, but as a nearby resident, I was disappointed by this news…that is once I actually learned what the club was. Had I known this facility existed, I may have considered it for my family. It appeared to be a beautiful facility for a very reasonable price. Too bad there wasn’t a more substantial marketing plan to have potentially gained members such as myself. Hope the club finds new life for residents within the entire community.

  • I am aware my opinion may not be popular, however, I really don’t want my neighborhood dues going up because we now own the clubhouse and tennis courts. I understand that people were unaware of the Board turning down the seller of the facility, and they are upset they were not informed. But its not like GHPOA owned it in the first place, or sold something we had without our permission. Was GHPOA the only potential buyer the owner was willing to sell to? Is it possible for those that want the clubhouse/pool/tennis courts to find another buyer to manage the property? I understand that there is another pool in Feather Cove that used to be a neighborhood pool, and at one time interested homeowners came together a bought it. My husband and I looked at purchasing a home this spring that advertised a $11,000 membership to the pool that came with the purchase of the home. Could homeowners who feel so strongly about the clubhouse come together and make the same investment? Sign up all many people want to be memebers, split the bill, put all your names on the mortgage. Your monthly dues would go to the mortgage on the property and an escrow account for maintenance. Now those that are serious, own a piece of the property. When you want your payments to go down, try to get more members, or if you want to make it seem exclusive, you can limit the number of new members. Make it a Country Club. You can add it to the value of your property, just like a boat deed. Please don’t force the GHPOA to purchase something that not everyone is interested in. Lets come up with another solution. Those that don’t want a membership want their dues to go to what they think is important to their house.
