Bella Vita Expanding to Charlotte with Rapper Ludacris

Ever since Henri Najem opened Bella Vita Ristorante 10 years ago, he always wanted to expand the concept to other parts of the country. This week, Henri along with Geist agent Tim Durham and rapper Ludacris signed a lease in a new upscale shopping mall across from the Charlotte Bobcat’s arena in North Carolina.

“I’ve always wanted to take our Bella Vita concept to another upscale area and this deal just fell into my lap,” said Najem.

Through the developer of the new retail center in Charlotte, Najem heard that PF Changs and Cheesecake Factory were already committed. Positioning an upscale yet affordable Italian restaurant like Bella Vita in the mix “just made sense.”

When asked about Ludacris, Najem admitted he could not pick him out of a crowd before his introduction through Durham two months ago.

“He came in for dinner that night of the Corey Christmas Tree Tour in December and I didn’t even know who he was really.”

No word on when the restaurant will open.
