Students from Sand Creek Elementary will have a surprise when they return to school in August. Local artist Shannon Walsh, donating her time through the not-for-profit organization The Drem Corporation, has designed and painted four canvases for the school. The first is a music themed abstract for the music room. Three additional canvases are for the computer lab.
"The three smaller canvases in the computer lab are of a bright, old telephone, a radio, and a clock. I thought that would be funny for a computer lab!" shared Walsh. Another piece that the artist will be completing at Sand Creek Elementary is the painting of one of the bulk heads. There, Walsh will paint a landscape scene with a school house and the saying "I Love to Learn."
The Drem Corporation is an Indiana based not for profit 501(3) (c) corporation that paints murals in schools, churches and youth centers at no charge to the organization. According to their website http://www.thedremcorp.org/, their goal in donating art to local organizations is to open minds, stir imagination, inspire, and to encourage recipients to think beyond their current environment.
