Crystal Heart Award winner “August Rush” will open the 16th annual Heartland Film Festival at the Imax Theater in the Indiana State Museum on October 18th. This year’s line up features new events, new venues, and the largest film festival purse of $200,000.

New this year, meet Disney’s Mark Zoradi, President of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group, at the Indiana History Center on Sunday, October 21st for a special reception and sneak peak at clips from an upcoming release, “Enchanted.” Attendees will be able to interact with Zoradi and get the inside scoop on current and future projects coming from Disney.
AMC Theatres at Clearwater Crossing near Keystone at the Crossing and the Regal Cinemas downtown in the Circle Center Mall are the two closest venues to watch the 16 films selected from over 619 international submissions.
Closing ceremonies on Friday, October 26th will feature “The Kite Runner” based on the New York Times bestselling book. In addition to the screening, stars from the yet-to-be released film will also be on hand.
